Time Magazine's quote on Sachin
"When Sachin Tendulkar travelled to Pakistan to face one of the finest bowling attacks ever assembled in cricket, Michael Schumacher was yet to race a F1 car, Lance Armstrong had never been to the Tour de France, Diego Maradona was still the captain of a world champion Argentina team, Pete Sampras had never won a Grand Slam. When Tendulkar embarked on a glorious career taming Imran and company, Roger Federer was a name unheard of; Lionel Messi was in his nappies, Usain Bolt was an unknown kid in the Jamaican backwaters. The Berlin Wall was still intact, USSR was one big, big country, Dr Manmohan Singh was yet to "open" the Nehruvian economy. It seems while Time was having his toll on every individual on the face of this planet, he excused one man. Time stands frozen in front of Sachin Tendulkar. We have had champions, we have had legends, but we have never had another Sachin Tendulkar and we never will."
Sachin Tendulkar Honoured as Air Force Group Captain
Sachin Tendulkar is honored by providing the position of Group captain in the air Force. There was a discussion regarding this from long time ago and finally it was approved by the Supreme Commander of all the three forces in India that is the President Pratibha Patil.
Sachin accepted gracefully this news and expressed his pleasure and gratitude in being honoured by the Indian Air Force. "As an Indian, I am very proud to be associated with this dynamic force and I shall do my very best to be a brand ambassador for the IAF," he said.
Only in 2008, the 37-year old batsman received the Padma Vibhushan from the Government of India, the second highest honour to any citizen of the country.
"I am looking forward to familiarizing myself with the Indian Air Force. I once again salute the Indian Air Force for this great honour bestowed on me", he said.
It has been 21 years since the Mumbaikar started his cricketing career in 1989. He has never been axed from the Indian team in these two decades.

It's a dream to play in World Cup finals - Sachin Tendulkar
"As far as the World Cup is concerned it is a process. We don't want to jump to the 50th floor straight away, we must start on the ground floor,
We must take it step-by-step but to get there would be a fascinating journey. It is our dream, not just mine but the entire nation, to get there. To play the final in Mumbai is something you can only dream of and everything has to come together. I think we can do something we have been longing to do for quite some time" He said.
Part of the Test side which is currently the world number one in ICC rankings, Tendulkar said the tough part was not to get there but would be to maintain it.
"To be number one is special, it was our dream and our target to get to the number one spot in Test cricket," he said.
"We have had a good run in the last 20 months. Everyone wants to be number one and we cannot relax because there are other countries who want to be number one. It means a lot to us," he added.

Sachin's wax model at Madame Tussauds
It is the first instance in 1754 occasions that a celebrity's wax model has been unveiled outside London. It took the efforts of 20 people, four months and a budget of 150,000 pounds to realise the model.
The museum's officials took about 200 measurements and references from various photographs to achieve perfection. Even Tendulkar attended a sitting in Mumbai for the same.
